"You haven't called YET?" Mom Jones poses this question to Nick in regard to the house we had planned to move to later this month. Nick is confident that his conversation with the home's owner was sufficient to hold the place for us. So, first thing this morning we called the owner and asked if we could all drive out and see the place (I had yet to visit the home). Well, no joke, the guy had already given the place to someone else. AGH! I was completely horrified--Nick felt pretty bad--and once again we found ourselves searching for a new place. Sigh. I hate house hunting.

BUT, early this afternoon we got in contact with our future landlord. We asked if we could come and look at the house right away. No problem. We loved it immediately. A spacious home, rustic, on 92 acres (which we share with a couple other rental houses), next door to a golf course, and less expensive than the last place. Here are a few pictures to give you a general feel for the place.

The view out to the 5th green:
The second living area. I plan to use this as a play room:
Kitchen:
Main living area with fireplace:
A built-in bar. I think this will make a nice place to display pictures:
Built-in desk:
The study--completely filled with windows and much more beautiful than the pictures show:
A little fenced backyard so we can just let Baldwin head out:
A view of the outside:
The owner is putting in all new appliances and a washer and dryer. We have completed official paperwork (so as to avoid the same problem we encountered with the last rental possibility), and we plan to move in on the 18th. HOORAY!

PS- Our landlord is happy to let us have chickens, a garden, and possibly a goat. I'm totally tickled. A fortunate misfortune, I say.

This house is definitely prettier than the one I looked at last week ... like very much prettier. Wow. I am relieved that you have found this after the first one was gone! As I was reading through this post I was saying, "Oh, no!" about the first one being given away, etc. But this is really really pretty. :) Are you still going to be in the cute town of Comfort?
