Hooray! We made it back to Houston! Daddy met us at the airport and Nathan was delighted to see him! I think the feeling was mutual. Nathan and I were exhausted after our early morning travels, and Daddy was tired, too. After lots of tickling and kissing and after I showed off all of Nia's new clothes to Nick, we laid down for a nap. We all slept until 1pm! It was wonderful!

The cupboards at home were bare. Nick promises he ate while we were gone, but I've no idea what! After a trip to Target and a subsequent trip to Kroger's, the kitchen was back to being fully functional. It was HOT outside and Daddy suggested that he and Nathan head down to the pool for a swim. I tagged along with my new digital camera (a present from Nick!) to enjoy the sun and take some pictures for all the Michiganders (and other Texans...as it turns out) to see. Nathan liked riding in his little boat while Daddy pulled him.

After a good long swim the boys were ready to head back to the house. I was so sweaty that your average observer would probably guess I'd gone swimming, too. Lovely. Anyway, Nathan got wrapped up in his beach towel (a gift from his Great Grandma Durling) and looked pretty cute if I must say so myself.
The other two 'men' in my life: Duke and Hobbs. I missed them while I was gone! So did Nathan. He immediately set about spoiling them with goodies. He also desperately wanted to accompany Daddy when he walked the dogs. Dad obliged.
Today Nathan has been asking where 'Kyle go?' Kyle didn't go anywhere, I explain, but we went a loooong way! Nathan and I went to the market and stocked up on fruits and veggies. I made a lasagna to cook up for dinner. Nathan felt right at home here at the apartment (I had wondered if he would forget what his house was like) and is already tearing through the kitchen and throwing toys from a standing position on top of the coffee table. I needn't have worried. We have mixed feelings about being back home. It was SO much fun being in Michigan--we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We also felt homesick, so it's nice to be back. That's just how it goes when you live a long way from family.

Tomorrow we are going to an Astro's game with a group from church. I think Nathan will really like it! I'm preparing myself to deal with heat stroke. It isn't easy being pregnant in Houston in June...and the summer has just begun! Yikes!
