If you are looking for the blog about Kyle's Navy Graduation, this isn't it. BUT, good news! You are in the right place. Just scroll down until you see a picture of Kyle's handsome face. Good enough? Alright then.

Here is a picture I snapped the other day of Nia Madelynn...she was snoozin' on the couch. Just kissable, isn't she? Well, she isn't always such a doll. Last night she was horrendous. I had a breakdown early this morning and was relieved of all baby duty. I slept in until about 10:30! I needed the rest. I was exhausted!
Anyhow, our recent family news is as follows:

Nathan is just getting over his first-ever black eye. When I arrived back in Houston from Chicago, Nathan had a shiner! Nobody really knows what happened. I guess Nathan went to bed one night in excellent condition, but woke up looking like he'd taken on a gang. I didn't take any pictures. Maybe I should have, but the purple/blue/brown combination on Nathan's eyelid wasn't very flattering.

Nick has been busy hiring, training, and promoting people for his store. After getting rid of a few really bad apples, Nick's store is finally turning a corner and becoming a well-functioning place of business. Nick is even working to promote one of his employees to be his assistant manager. He needs one! Hopefully, things will fall into place for that pretty soon.

Nathan was given a Navy-regulation haircut yesterday. Generally, his hairdresser (AKA me) cuts his blondies very meticulously with her barber scissors, but not yesterday. We whipped out the razor and just shaved that head. Fitting, I suppose, since Nathan is going to be a sailor for Halloween.

And, for now, that's it. Not terribly exciting, but it's all I've got. I briefly considered making up a story of some family adventure that might include the car breaking down during hurricane evacuation, etc. etc., but I wasn't feeling THAT creative today!

Nia is growing so much! I have just started editing our pictures from September (I took over 2300 pictures, and Mr. Jones took nearly 700) -- so obviously there are some bad apples in that bunch ... but as I was looking through them, I came to tons from Galveston, so I just let them play as a slide show, relaxed in my newly put-together chair from IKEA and enjoyed experiencing the ocean, those amazing clouds, the sea gulls, the sounds and smells of the Island ... and you guys! It was pretty good, but not as good as being there ... miss you guys!
