Calvin Durling, my Grandfather, passed away today. Of course, my heart grieves the loss of this Godly man, but more than that, I find myself reveling in the privilege that is mine to say, "He is my Grandpa."

As I spoke on the phone today with my cousin, I said, "Jonathan--Grandpa is seeing Jesus, and I think that Grandpa is singing!" Jonathan and I began to sing the Durling family chorus:

And that's enough to make me sing.
And that's enough to make me sing.
My sins are all forgiven and I'm (liberty taken) finally in heaven!
And that's enough to make me sing.

I want to say so much more. I want to write a fitting tribute to the man who has shown me so much about the character of Jesus. But, although rare, I am feeling silenced and humbled. My thoughts are primarily directed toward God--gratitude.

Thank you, thank you God. Thank you for each day. For each conversation. For my Grandpa. His life revolved around You. He is with You now, amen. Amen and amen.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, Rachel -- not sad for him, just for the folk left here who continue to "walk by faith, not by sight." I'll be praying for all of you.
