Mr. Nathan Paul playing in the sand and drinking a (caffeine-free!) Dr. Pepper. We spent a wonderful bit of time together on Galveston Island yesterday. It was slightly cooler than on the mainland because of the breeze off the gulf. Nathan was slathered with SPF50 and enjoyed himself immensely.

Yesterday evening our family went to an
Astro's game. The
Astro's were playing against the Oakland A's. Nathan was incredibly enthusiastic about our time at the ballpark. I was enthused to find that Minute Maid Park is air conditioned. Hooray! Nathan cheered for both teams. He seemed undaunted by the crowds (we were joined by 33,634 other fans), the deafening noises (shouting, clapping, and countless refrains of 'Deep in the Heart of Texas'), and the fact that we were sitting in the nosebleed section. Sometime during the 5
th inning Nathan spilled his Coke all over Daddy...good thing it wasn't spilled on me...I would have lost it. Daddy handled himself quite maturely and only commented that this particular coke was the most expensive $5.00 soda that he had never gotten to drink. Nathan also enjoyed munching on ballpark popcorn. After the last bit of popcorn had gone to the same fate as the soda, Nathan determined that the popcorn bucket made quite a nice hat. He insisted Nick try it on, too. We left at the end of the eighth inning so we didn't need to fight the crowds. The
Astro's were ahead when we left. This will be a slight improvement in their rather glum season.
The rest of the pictures on this post were taken at my brother's open house on the 9
th. Nathan was delighted to find himself surrounded by adoring relatives pointing cameras in his direction. Frankly, I think he is just darling. I suppose every Mom feels that way about their children, but seriously, look at his big blue eyes and his sweet smile...Who wouldn't love this face??

Nathan jumped at the opportunity to try on his second-cousin's sunglasses. How cool are they? He put them on all by himself...can you tell? I've given up on purchasing sunglasses as the toddler so regularly breaks mine, but he handled these with the greatest care and enjoyed trying to put them on
AnnaLiese, Kyle, and me. Generally speaking the glasses were on upside down, more in the region of our lips, and yet at the perfect angle to stick one of the sides directly in an eye.

And here is Nathan with his Mommy. We had such a nice time with friends and family! What a happy boy. I love this picture--don't know why. It just makes me smile. Love and love and love to Nathan Paul.

That last picture of you and Nathan is priceless! What a great moment someone captured of the two of you. It is beautiful!
You should enlarge the sunglass picture and frame it! Oh, he's cute!
The Astros game sounded fun too.
:)
You are right, Nathan is the best. Well equal with all my other grandchildren who are all better that all the rest. That make seven and a half, soon to be eight best grandchildren.
I agree with mom jones, the sunglass picture is a classic. could you send us a copy of the original digital picture file?
