Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day--
Ay-ay-ay...
I'm a Navy sister. Do you think they sell bumper stickers for that? Today Kyle swears into the Navy in Lansing. Due to his incredible genius (reflected by his ASVAB score) and his physical prowess (you know, he's athletic and strong like me!), Kyle is considering joining the Navy Special Forces. He is particularly interested in Search and Rescue...the people who show up after a disaster (Katrina, or a big tsunami, etc.) and dive out of helicopters to save people floating on refrigerator doors. I suppose it could be exciting.
Anyways, I'm particularly glad Kyle chose the Navy. Their uniforms are so particularly darling, aren't they? What could possibly be more handsome than a man in a sailor suit? Now that I reflect on it, I doubt that the Special Forces get to wear their cute little uniforms much. They really aren't the type of attire that suits jumping into filthy flood waters. Oh, well. Maybe we could at least get a picture of him wearing the sailor suit.
I would brag more, but the littlest sailor in the family is calling my name. Anchors Aweigh!

Oh my word, Rachel! Oh my oh my! YOW! Kyle in the Navy? Whew. How are your folks dealing with it? Oh my! Nice posting of this shocking family news item! I suppose you will adjust to being a "Navy sister" if I can adjust to being an "Army mom", right?
