Batter Up!!

This is Nathan with his Grandpa McNeil. Digital photography and email have made it possible for me to see pictures of little Nathan almost immediately after they were taken...even though they were snapped quite a few hundred miles away.
I had to manipulate clothing and other toys in packing because I felt quite strongly about including Nathan's T-ball set. It was a tight fit...and I was bound and determined to use the smaller of our suitcases...but, as you can see, it made it! My Dad has always liked softball/baseball, so he is really the best person to play the game with Nathan. I don't know a lot about the game, but it looks to me like Nathan already has an amazing stance. What do you think? He looks firmly planted, eye on the ball, good grip on the bat, and looks dashing (even without proper baseball pinstripes).
Today Nick works until 7pm. I dropped him off and have done a bit of housecleaning this afternoon. It is terribly hot here--hot enough, in fact, that they have issued heat advisories for the past several days. I believe today's heat index was around 108. I just try to stay inside. I haven't actually gotten out the thermometer to check this, but I'm pretty sure that after 15 or 20 minutes of good solid housework, I exceed temperatures of 108...and that's here in the air conditioned house! Well, this post has been a deterrent to further progress, but I was so tickled with the picture of Nathan and my Dad that I wanted to share it!
