The event of the day: A trip to Freeman Library to see a "real live" Houston fire truck. Nathan didn't spend long checking out the truck, but he did enjoy himself. The nature of a two-year-old attention span is simply short. Here Nathan and Daddy approach the truck for a closer look.

Look at how huge the truck is in comparison to Nathan. The tires alone were taller than he was! He enjoyed checking out those massive wheels.

Daddy helped Nathan try on the fireman's gloves. They are HUGE and heavy. Nathan preferred to watch as Daddy tried them on. He wasn't too sure about wearing the gloves--laced with reflective strips--that could have housed an entire one of his legs.

Nathan's favorite moment: He got to 'drive' the fire truck. Nick sat him in the seat and Nathan was incredibly pleased. In fact, as soon as Nick removed Nathan from the seat, a protest went up. Nick gave in and spent a little more time with Nathan inside the truck.

This post isn't long, but Nia is asking for Mommy to rock her, so I'll have to call it good.

Jackson loves fire trucks too and enjoys visiting one any time he can. I am always just stunned by the size of the tires in comparison to the kids.
