Several days ago Mom Jones posted a link to a blog that has become a constant in my life:

www.cfhusband.blogspot.com

As I read this blog, the main characters have become a part of 'my family', and I have been amazed as Christians from all over the world have banded to pray for this one family. And our prayers and thoughts and notes of encouragement are blessings to them. And they are a blessing to us.

Nathan, Tricia, and Gwenyth Rose. Nathan is the 'Daddy' and 'Hubby'. Tricia is the 'Mommy' and 'Wife.' Gwenyth is their daughter: 1 lb 6 oz. Wow! Tricia just delivered this baby girl via c-section and is now trying to heal enough to endure a double lung transplant (she has Cystic Fibrosis). These two girls are holding onto life with the help of incredible technology, skilled medical practitioners, and prayers to a great God. As I read through the (literally) hundreds of comments from near and far corners of the globe, I was amazed by the number of prayers that must be burning before our God concerning this family. And I am reminded, once again, that our God excels in improbabilities.

Remember the previous post regarding Kyle's military experience? Remember little David slaying big Goliath? Remember blind men seeing and lame men dancing? Recall parting seas, calming seas, walking on seas...recall that God is BIG.

God is big enough to be small.

What do I mean? He is big enough to personally care about each one of us. He cares about Tricia's lungs--her labored breaths--her attempts to speak--her unheard fears. He cares about Gwenyth--her tiny hands--her struggling body. He cares for Nathan--the loves of his life--the exhaustion--the sadness and encouragement. He cares for Kyle--the waiting--the unknown--the challenges of being in the military. He cares for my Grandpa--in the midst of his confusion--surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of a nursing home. And he cares for me, for Rachel.

He cares when I ask questions.
He cares when I struggle with OCD.
He cares when I am exhausted.
He cares when I'm singing...when I'm playing the piano.
He cares when I am speechless.
He cares when I am overjoyed.
He cares when I care. And I care about Nathan, Tricia, and Gwenyth.

So I pray for them. And God hears those prayers. And God cares on His own, and God cares because His people care.

I know He will send manna from heaven: I just wish I knew exactly when it would arrive and what it would taste like.

Me too. I check the Lawrenson's updates throughout the day and I too have been amazed at the outpouring of love from people all over the world for this dear family. It's been very cool to realize the difference Christ has made in people's lives in so many places, as well as the impact of this one story. I feel like I have been "living in prayer" this past week for them and have been blessed beyond words in my own life. It was nice to click onto your blog and see an update from you ... we miss you guys.
