Nia Madelynn. She's mommy's girl. To use the word 'adoration' would be an understatement. She is laying on the floor beside me as I type this...grinning up at me and making baby noises which I interpret to mean, "Love you, Mom!" And I make some silly noises back which most definitely DO mean, "Love you, Queenie!"

Most weeks Nick takes Nathan out on his day off and they enjoy some 'guy time.' I spend that time catching up on things around the house, enjoying the relative silence, and showering my Nia with all the attention she can possibly bear. Today has been no exception. Nick and Nath are at the zoo. Queen and I are at home. She is a blessing--an easy baby, a smiler, a cuddler and a rocker. I so enjoy life with these two young children!

Here is Nia a day or two ago. Sometimes she rests right in the living room where Nathan and I are playing. It's amazing that she can sleep through Nathan's jabbering, laughing, and jumping. I suppose she is used to it.
This is winter in Houston: baby in a sundress relaxing in the hammock. Nia loves to lay in the hammock. She will sometimes stay there completely content for the entire length of her nap. Sometimes I do the same. This is a simple pleasure.
